The Reer SilentGuard Baby Capsule Ear Muffs Rose have a single number rating (SNR) of 29, providing reliable protection to sensitive baby ears.
For babies & toddlers, their hearing is not yet fully developed making them particularly sensitive to noise. Noises louder than 85 decibels (e.g. airport noises, or fireworks) are harmful to sensitive baby ears, and can cause permanent hearing damage.
A sound insulation level of 29 SNR means that, on average, the SilentGuard ear muffs reduce the sound intensity by 29 decibels before the sound reaches the eardrums. With the Reer SilentGuard in place, most loud noises such as fireworks or a car honking nearby (over 100 decibels) can be reduced to a harmless level (under 80 decibels).
The shape of the ear capsules ensures a snug fit for the small ears of babies. The Reer SilentGuard ear muffs use such light sound-dampening & skin friendly materials, they are exceptionally comfortable to wear.
The hook-and-loop fastener design coupled with the soft, elastic headband makes is particularly easy to fit the head of a small baby snugly & gently without excessive pressure. It works well even on sleeping babies.
